I have been waiting for 10 months for this day; the day that Ryan & Christina became man and wife.  I met them previously on a model call for a stylized wedding shoot last June.  While we assumed the models we ultimately select would have already been married, but their application and love story fit our image perfectly (and we didn't think it would hurt to help Ryan envision what Christina would look like as his bride).  It clearly got things moving as he proposed a couple of months later and the wedding date was set for April 15th, 2016.

Countless memories were shared on the University of Oklahoma Campus in Norman, Oklahoma,  Ryan's Alma Mater, so many of the festivities revolved around the grounds.

The day started at a darling little home just down the street from campus that Christina rented for the day.  She knew right from the start to look for ample lighting and decor that would capture the moments well (she's a photographer's dream).

And no celebration is complete without champagne and sparkles...

While her bridesmaids helped her get in her dress, I just adored how her flower girl looked in awe at the real life princess standing before her.

Of course, when you put on a pretty dress, you must dance and test how well it twirls.

Christina had been dreaming of this day for years and no detail was lost in designing her day. Her Nicoletta gown, designed by Hayley Paige, was the inspiration behind many of the design elements.   Using a Fairy Tale Theme (many elements of Disney Princesses can be found throughout the decor) and whimsical, dreamy foliage, her vision was complete.

Shades of creams, whites, pinks, golds, and silver and lace and tulle were carried through the flower arrangements, invitations, cake, and decor.

Christina & Ryan were adamant about not seeing eachother before she walked down the aisle.  We instead used this as an opportunity to do a first look, first with Mom, and then with the other man in her life, her father.  It was the start of many tears and a beautiful moment.

The ceremony took place at St. Thomas More University Parish just off campus.

The most joyous moments of the day for me, was the look on Ryan's face when he saw his bride walking down the aisle.  His expression says it all!

It was a beautiful, traditional Catholic wedding with heartfelt scriptures and rituals

After the ceremony it  was an opportunity to take photos of the out of town family members than came in specifically for the occasion as well as pictures of the bridal party on the OU campus.

One important member of the family that was unfortunately now able to attend the ceremony was their dog, Hurely.  She joined us on campus to greet her Mommy and Daddy and congratulate them on getting married.  She was especially excited to see Daddy.  She stood by while they got some solo photos and photos with her.

One thing that I stress to all of my couples, is the day goes by so fast.   It's easy to get caught up in the schedule of the day and go place to place and see everyone who attended.  I think it's even more important to take some time, as a couple, and enjoy eachother's company away from the guests.  In many instances, these are the moments you are going to frame and look back on for years to come.

We strolled around the campus, the place where they share so many memories, and made sure to stop at the Spoon Holder in the North Oval to grab a kiss.  Legend has it, if you kiss in this circle, you two will get married.  Clearly we had to document the done deal.

The reception was held at The Whispering Pines Inn, an adorable Bed and Breakfast. The grounds were filled with large trees, a pond, and a pavilion overlooking it.  They did a beautiful job decorating the area with lights, cocktail tables, and accent furniture provided by Borrowed Charm.

The couple entered and started off the festivities with their first dance, From the Ground Up by Dan & Shay and led into the Father Daughter & Mother Son dances.

The celebration continued with toasts, cake cutting, the garter, and bouquet toss.

The couple danced the night away, including Ryan's 83 year old grandmother!

Ryan & Christina continued their fun evening into the wee hours but not before having the most magnificent sparkler exit that summed up their magical day.

Christina & Ryan, it was such an honor be apart of your ceremony.  You two are adorable beyond words and I know you will have a lifetime of happiness together!  Cheers to you both!

Thank you to all of the amazing vendors that helped with the day including my second shooter, Mallory from Mallory Kee Photography.
